PHONES FOR BRODY!!!!

Restart™ Starts With You

Participating in the Restart™ program helps kids needing a life-saving transplant.

COTA Patient Campaigns will receive at least $3 per recyclable phone collected by their campaign volunteers.  In addition, any additional income received from the phone recycler will be distributed to the COTA patients’ fund to assist with future patient needs.

Brody is 4 years old and has a mitochondrial disorder that has caused him to have intestinal failure.  The intestinal failure requires him to receive his nutrition-(TPN) intravenously through a central venous catheter.  Due to complications associated with TPN usage Brody is now listed for a small bowel transplant at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. This will hopefully allow him to discontinue the TPN and ultimately save his liver. The mitochondrial disease has also led to bone marrow suppression of his red blood cells thus requiring him to be transfusion dependent.  So far Brody has received 21 blood transfusions in his short life.  He is admitted to the hospital often and spent 100 days inpatient this past year.  Despite it all Brody has emerged as a happy, vibrant little boy who always becomes the center of attention wherever he goes due to his outgoing and very special personality.  Brody has two older brothers, Jacob(9) and Logan(7), who he adores!!!  Brody lives in Powder Springs and receives his care at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite.  Brody loves the Power Rangers and wants to go to Red Ranger School when he grows up.  To see more pictures of Brody or read more about his journey to transplant please go to www.carepages.com and sign in under Carepage Name=brodyjcole
