Chattahoochee Technical College is offering an Associate’s Degree and Diploma in Fire Science. Our classes are hybrid and fire friendly which means that you will be in the classroom for 2 hours and on the computer 2 hours per. Classes are offered on back to back days so that that firefighters can come on their day off. I personally worked for the Warren Fire Department in Michigan for 25 years and retired in 2006 as a Lieutenant on our heavy rescue USAR truck. We had 6 stations and 175 men. Our equipment consisted of 6 Engines, 4 medic rescues, 2 ladders and 1 heavy rescue. Just before my retirement our Mayor laid off 40 firefighters, went to medic engines and did away with our medic rescue transport trucks. My father retired as Deputy Chief in 1993 after 30 years of service.
