Steven Solomon Atlanta Fire Department
Fundraiser for Atlanta Firefighter Steven Solomon
December 3
The fundraiser for Atlanta Firefighter Steven Solomon was held at Park Tavern last night, there was a great turn out with all the proceeds going to the family.
Here are some of the departments that were represented last night: Atlanta Fire, Atlanta Police, Dekalb Fire, Fulton County Fire, Marietta Fire, College Park Fire, Cobb County Fire, Marietta Police, Cobb County Police and Roswell Fire I'm sure I missed some (if I did sorry).
December 2
All fire
personnel that wish to participate in the procession from Atlanta to Macon
should be at Turner Field at 07:30. There will be five buses to transport
uniformed Atlanta personnel to Macon. Members from other departments are welcome
to fill in where there is room. All apparatus should be in place for line up by
07:30. Lunch will be provided in Macon at around 10:00. Due to time constraints,
please get a lunch and eat quickly. I don't know how many lunches will be
available. There will be a walking procession from the funeral home to the Macon
Coliseum before the funeral. The buses will return to Atlanta at approx. 19:00.

Firefighter Steven Solomon (Atlanta Fire) has died in the line of duty just past 01:00hrs this date.
Dear Friends and Neighbors:
You may have seen on the news that Steven died last night. He
joins an honored group of firefighters who have made the
ultimate sacrifice in serving the City of Atlanta. Steven is the
57th Atlanta firefighter to die in the line of duty.
Please keep Steven's wife Kennetha and their four children in
your prayers as well as our fire department families in both
Atlanta and Macon. This will be a difficult time as we plan on a
proper memorial for our fallen brother while maintaining a high
quality of service to our city. Funeral arrangements will
be forwarded when available. If you would like to help us to
support the Solomon family, donations can be made to the
Steven Solomon Memorial Fund at any Wachovia Bank. It is
listed under the account title of the Firefighters Emerald
Society. It is account #2000034959565. At this time, I do
not know if the fundraiser at the Park Tavern will still be held
on Saturday. We will know when the funeral arrangements are
complete.
Thank you so much for your prayers and support of Atlanta
firefighters.

Lieutenant JD Hill of the Marietta Fire Department had Gallbladder Surgery this morning at Kennestone Hospital. Everything went okay and he should be released sometime tomorrow. He is in room 682. That's all we have at this time. Keep JD and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

31-year-old Atlanta firefighter Steven Soloman is in critical condition w/ 3rd degree burns from what appears to have been a flashover in a vacant frame dwelling last evening. He was pulled from the single-story dwelling and is being treated at the Grady Memorial Hospital burn unit w/burns over 30 percent of his body. FF Soloman is a fairly new member of the AFD but is a veteran firefighter, coming from another department. According to a report, firefighters had left the house due to conditions, when FF Solomon was determined to be missing and deployed the RIT team to bring him out. While burned, his airway appears to have not been effected, which of course, is a blessing.
