Hello,
My name is Brian Harding. At 0815 hours on Tuesday, May 27, 2008 my wife,
Allison, gave birth to our first son, James, in the parking lot of the Sahara
Mediterranean Grill on Woodstock Road. We were enroute to North Fulton Regional
Hospital after she went into labor, but the baby decided to come a little sooner
than expected. Although I was not prepared to do so, I delivered him myself
while on the phone with emergency dispatch. Within 60 seconds two Roswell Police
units came flying into the parking lot. Both officers ran over and offered help.
They stayed with us until Fire and EMS arrived. The fire fighters that responded
were absolutely wonderful to me and my wife, and took great care of my brand new
child. The police officers that responded were kind enough to stay on scene and
even help get my wife transferred over to the ambulance. One of the officers
even helped me get cleaned up from the birth. During the excitement and
confusion of the situation, I forgot to get the names of the police officers and
fire fighters that helped us out, but I want to take the time now to extend a
much deserved and heartfelt expression of gratitude. We were not expecting to
deliver a child in a car in a parking lot, but I cannot thank you all enough for
responding so quickly to ensure the safety of my wife and new child. I am
attaching a photo of myself, my wife, and our new baby to show you the results
of all the combined efforts. Please see to it that the officers involved and
firefighters involved get a copy of this email so they know how thankful we are
to them.
