Ladies and Gentlemen:

I am proud to announce that we are putting together the Mike Vickers Lawn Mower Safety Fishing Olympics!  There is a twenty dollar entry fee.  All proceeds are going to help pay for lawn care for the Vickers residence (We are trying to keep Mike off of a mower).  The competition will go on from June 1st to June 30th.  You will have an entire month to fish 3 different venues, the Chattahoochee, the lower Etowah, and a small pond to be named later.  The two finalists will fish a large lake (Allatoona or Lanier) for the title.

Send me an e-mail and I will forward you the details.

Daniel McCullough (Marietta Fire) and his wife Tabitha welcomed their son Derek Logan on 5/7/2009.  He weighed 7lb 5oz and is 20 inches in length.  Mom is doing great and little Derek has a small case of Jaundice.  They are keeping him under lights to get his bilirubin levels down.  They hope to be home soon.

Mike Vickers (Marietta Fire) is out of the hospital and back at home.  He still has an IV line with antibiotics for twelve more days.  He thanks everyone for the concerns and prayers and wishes to be back soon.

Mike Vickers (Marietta Fire) is still in the hospital, he is responding well to treatment. The fever is under control and the pain improves daily. The doctors have added anti blood clot treatment as a preventive measure along with the continued antibiotics and pain medication.  The current plan is to send him home on Monday or Tuesday. Mike and his family are very grateful for the overwhelming show of support, and appreciate everyone’s concern.

Unfortunately, Mike Vickers (Marietta Fire) had to go back to the hospital last night (Thursday) with high fever and uncontrollable pain. He was admitted to receive additional IV antibiotics, and they plan to keep him for another couple days. In the event they do not get control over the infection a second surgery will be required to clean the wound again. He seems to be in good spirits considering the circumstances, but that might be the pain medications!

He is in Emory Eastside Medical Center in Snellville room 428. The hospital is about an hour drive without traffic from Marietta.
